Happy to announce the release of this latest remix I produced for the Brooklyn-based 10-piece afrobeat ensemble Zongo Junction. Check out the 7″ single they are also dropping today on Primary Records. They have a pretty classic sound that pays homage to Fela, Tony Allen & other afrobeat originators, but I mixed in some heavy synths and hip hop drums to give it that extra head nod bounce. It’s starting to feel like Summer around here, so I hope this one gets spins at a BBQ near you. Big shout out to the always tasty OkayAfrica.com for giving some early love to the track too.
