I’m In Love With A Badass

[vimeo width=”450″ height=”360″]http://vimeo.com/11219730[/vimeo]

In case there was ever a fleeting moment of doubt about who holds the crown, M.I.A. is back with a very badass reminder. Directed by the same evil genius responsible for Justice’s “Stress” video. Damn.

Your article gave me a lot of inspiration, I hope you can explain your point of view in more detail, because I have some doubts, thank you.

Hypnotic

[vimeo width=”450″ height=”360″]http://vimeo.com/10061302[/vimeo]

A tiny bit lewd perhaps (the gems were a bit much for me), but also really nicely done, with simple and stylish animation by Mrzyk & Moriceau.

Remixing Nature!

Yes, I said music from a tree. Or that’s what Diego Stocco dubs his most recent musical recording project. Armed with Pro Tools, a couple Rode microphones, a bow and customized stethoscope, the result is a pretty impressive example of thinking outside of the music box.

Personally, music from a tree is my favorite piece of his online works, but you can check out some of his other experiments like Music from Sand and Cold Cornflakes on his Bandcamp page or see photos of his process on his Behance post. This is the kind of remixing I want to see more of!

After reading your article, it reminded me of some things about gate io that I studied before. The content is similar to yours, but your thinking is very special, which gave me a different idea. Thank you. But I still have some questions I want to ask you, I will always pay attention. Thanks.

Let The Beat Build Live

Nyle “Let The Beat Build” from Nyle on Vimeo.

This cat Nyle is homies with UTK and Vamoose, so I guess that makes him my second cousin. I’ve now watched this video like 10 times and it’s not getting old at all. Much propers to everyone involved and to the genius with a fresh concept. ONE TAKE! AUDIO RECORDED LIVE! This is really real. Hopefully he’s gonna be performing at one of our upcoming events. More on that soon…

Strings & Scratching

[youtube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=36Xt-XeWnHM[/youtube]

So this video is far from new – Paul Dateh posted this little performance with Inka One almost two years ago. But a quick visit to his site makes it clear he’s still pushing things. If you just watch this one video, I can see how you might be tempted to call it ‘gimmicky’, but if you check out some of his other work, you can see he’s clearly a very talented musician making his way by sometimes taking a slightly different approach with his music. His hip hop covers might make for better ‘viral’ videos, but does this say more about the artist or what appeals more to a wider audience? Makes good food for thought in terms of how indie artists market themselves and reach audiences to gain wider appeal… Continue reading…
